Which antibiotic will work best for my boil?
By JEREMY DUNHAM ABOVE:The Islamic Republic of Iran is seeking to find a new antibiotic to treat its rapidly growing bubonic plague outbreak.
The new drug will be administered as a nasal spray, rather than an injectable drug, Iranian officials said Thursday.
It’s unclear how much the new drug would cost and whether it would be given to people over the age of 18.
The price tag was not disclosed, though experts have warned that if it were a more expensive option, it could pose a serious health risk.
According to the IRNA news agency, Iranian authorities have ordered at least 1,000 units of the new spray to be distributed across the country by July 30.
Iran has a record of using deadly drugs to quell a plague that has killed more than 9,000 people and infected thousands of others.
