‘The next step for me is to get married’
The former Chelsea and Manchester United striker is now married and plans to marry his fiancée in February.
The 27-year-old has been linked with several top clubs but has yet to confirm his future with his former club.
He has been heavily linked with a move to the Chinese Super League with Chinese Premier League side Guangzhou Evergrande, and he is now set to become the first Briton to be signed to China’s biggest club.
He has scored 25 goals in 76 appearances for Chelsea and has become the Premier League’s all-time top scorer with 32 goals.
Now, the midfielder is hoping to get his chance at the club in the Champions League with China’s Tianjin Quanjian.
He said: “I’m looking forward to it.
I’ve had a few conversations with the manager [Andre Villas-Boas] and the coaching staff and we’ve been talking about a long-term move, so it’s great to finally get the chance to play in the Chinese league.”
I’ve got a good connection with the club and the fans and we’re going to do everything we can to help us get a place in the China Super League.
