When do you get to eat boiled peanuts? Here’s how to prepare the crispy, salty treat
Posted September 12, 2018 07:22:56 You may have heard of boiled peanuts, but you may not have realized just how salty they can be.
And as much as we like to think we know how to cook with peanut butter, they actually taste pretty bad.
The best way to prepare them is to soak them in a bowl of salted water for about 30 minutes.
That’s it, the peanut butter has been boiled, and the water has evaporated.
As soon as you remove the bowl from the heat, the salty taste fades away.
Be sure to keep a close eye on your water intake if you plan to boil the peanut for any extended period of time.
“When they’re cooked they’re not going to taste bad,” says Michael J. DeRosa, the founder of the Food Network’s Food Channel.
It’s hard to overcook the peanuts, so be sure to cook them on a high heat to crisp them and remove the skins.
But there’s a better way to make them.
This recipe is the perfect snack to make with just a few ingredients.
You can serve the roasted peanuts in a bun with a side of creamy peanut butter sauce, or you can bake them in individual servings, or even freeze them for later.
You can also mix up your own peanut butter to make it more nutty, and you can add your favorite peanut sauce.
